Envisioning a Sustainable Future with Native Plants
Our mission:
Desert Love is dedicated to making native plants accessible and desirable for all. Through Education, Conservation, and Observation (ECO), we empower individuals to see native plants not just as an option, but as the most resilient, intelligent, and ecologically vital choice for Southern Nevada.
By increasing awareness, we help people recognize the interconnectedness of native plants with the broader ecosystem while also highlighting their practical benefits—such as minimal water needs, heat resilience, and low-maintenance care—that make them the smart choice for Southern Nevada landscapes.
Our mission is to inspire a widespread movement—one where people embrace the wisdom of the desert, restore and transform their landscapes, and become active stewards of their environment.
Our vision:
Desert Love envisions a future where native plants are an essential and celebrated part of every Southern Nevada landscape—thriving in urban and suburban spaces as well as in their natural environments.
By fostering a deep appreciation for the desert’s natural wisdom—its resilience, adaptability, and the intricate web of life it supports—we inspire a community that values, protects, and actively restores native ecosystems, integrating them into the places we live, work, and gather.
Community Events and Educational Workshops
At Desert Love, we are committed to educating our community about the importance of native plants. From informative workshops to detailed guides, we offer a variety of resources to help you understand how to incorporate native plants into your landscape effectively.
Become a Volunteer and Make an Impact
Join us for our regular volunteer drop-ins every Wednesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Cactus Joe’s. Simply ask for Frank or Bill, and they’ll guide you through your first experience with us. Together, we can cultivate a thriving community of native plant enthusiasts!
Working together for a Greener Future
Desert Love is proud to collaborate with various non-profits and organizations dedicated to environmental conservation and education. Our partnerships amplify our mission to restore and celebrate the beauty of our local ecosystem. From joint planting days to educational seminars, these collaborations enhance our community’s understanding of native plants and their vital role in our environment. Together, we can create a thriving desert landscape that benefits everyone!
